This is about how come I didn't change my page much since I was 11.
My mom and me started making my page when I was 10. We worked on it all the time and it was really alot of fun. I especially liked getting email from people from all over the world who liked my page. And I liked having so many penpals who were really cool.
I use to work on my page almost every day and I kept changing it and adding new things. My mom helped me when I didn't know how to make the pages myself and we looked for some of the funny things together.
My mom was really sick but she kept it a secret for a long time. Then she told me and we went to live in Colorado. We lived there for over a year. We lived in a town in the mountains and it was really pretty there. We went because my mom was dying and she liked how peaceful and pretty it was. And she wanted to do special things with me before she got too sick. She liked to look at the mountains and the snow. My uncle came to live with us when my mom got really weak. She didn't want to go to the hospital even when it got really bad cause she knew they couldn't make her get better.
My mom died in December. She was the best mom in the world ever. I miss her every day. I live with my best friend Susan and her mom and dad now. They're really nice and I'm glad they love me so much but I miss my mom. And like my page is something special I made with her so I don't want to change it alot even though some of it is sort of babyish. So alot of the things on my page are old. Maybe sometime I'll change it more or maybe keep it and make a new page but I don't want to do that yet.
I can't decide if I want to write this part or not. But I think I will for my mom. My mom died from AIDS. She got it from something bad that happened along time ago. Sometimes people are really mean when they find out someone has AIDS. Or if they find out someone's mom has AIDS. Sometimes people think maybe I have AIDS because my mom did but I don't. I hope you never know anyone who gets AIDS but if you do you should be really nice to them and to all their family.
My mom was the nicest person in the world and she tried to help so many people even when she was sick. She made a page that has alot of information about being good parents and keeping kids safe. And it has other pages for how to get better if something bad does happen to a kid or a grownup. Her page isn't for kids but if you're a grownup you can look at it. It's called Kathy's Essential Information.
Update: August, 1998: I just made a new page called Rachel's Other Page. It might not always have things that are safe for little kids.
