There Isn't Enough Room For
All The Pictures This Time

For all the students of Columbine High School
and their families, friends, and everyone in
Littleton, Colorado.  And especially E.M.

How Many More?
(by Rachel Williams)

What did we learn
When Stephanie died
Along with Brittheny and Natalie and Paige?
What did we learn
About violence and hate
And the evil that thrives in our age?

What have we done
To make the world safe
For children to play and have fun?
What have we done
To protect all the kids
Who get hurt and have no place to run?

How many more guns
Do boys and men need
To make themselves feel good & strong?
Will we ever break free
From the violence they spawn?
Will they see that their way is so wrong?

Is it not bad enough
That there are wars and disease
Killing so many innocent young?
Tell me how many more
Must die in violence and pain
For man's stupid obsession with guns?

How many more schools
Will be turned into tombs
By bullets and bombs going thud?
Should we prepare little kids
For the adventure of school
And teach how to fingerpaint in blood?

How many more children
Must die in their schools
Or on streets or inside of their homes?
What else can I do
To make the world change
Besides writing a few more sad poems?
