Life, Love, and the Pursuit
Words can ramble on, as mine often do, and rarely do they manage to
express the emotion, concept or essential truth that their author has intended to impart.
The words below succeed in capturing the moment and have, at various times in my life,
held great meaning to me.

Cannot be unlived, but if faced
With courage, need not be lived again.

Oh God it seems so very far
And if life is just a highway - then the soul is just a car
And objects in the rearview mirror may appear closer than they are

Of all the injuries inflicted by
racism on people of color, the most
corrosive is the wound within, the
internalized racism that leads
some victims, at unspeakable cost
to their own sense of self, to
embrace the values of their oppressors.
---H. Jack Geiger
I've reached in darkness and come out with treasure
I've laid down with love and I woke up with lies

We live and learn from from our mistakes
The deepest cuts are healed by faith.

it will not matter what my bank account was,

When we close our hearts to someone else.

The very act of closing our hearts, though,
often does more damage than the risk we are trying to avoid.
