Harsh words spoken without a care
Scissors taken to cherished hair
Soiled clothes she was forced to wear
Growing shadows on her heart

Dreams and giggles stolen much to soon
Shameful visits by the light of the moon
Her silent cries became a mournful tune

Vicious words followed vicious blows
Her blackened eyes, a bloody nose
Her secret kept so noone knows

Broken spirit followed broken bone

Author's Note

This is the first poem that I tried to write to be a song.  The girl in it isn't me.  Parts of her are me and parts are my mom and parts are Kayla McKean and parts are other girls I heard about who got hurt or killed.
